grammar police

while driving around today, I started wondering who decided the order for pairs like "hot and cold" "north and south" or "yes and no". Why doesn't cold come before hot? One is surely not better than the other....

Most Annoying List

Eric had the idea that everyone would personalize this list. I'm going to go through the list and give me my response to each.

1. Car... I initially thought this was a good idea for a chevy, but then quickly stabbed my thigh with a steak knife...much like this. Its not a truck, not a car. The SSR is just yuck
2. musical artist...its a tie, literally and figuratively. I hate her for obvious reasons and her because she never returned my letters asking her to homecoming...and prom
3. food...it pisses me off because its so good for you but unless its cooked perfectly...it annoys me
4. store... i always feel like i need to shower in bleach or hand sanitizer after I go to this here
5. television show...the shows funny enough, but the actors voices make my ears bleed.
6. celebrity...ol bag o' bones and the spawn of satan really irk me. Does interviewing people even really make you a celebrity?
7. animal...never liked em' and if I'm pretending to like yours I probably just don't want to offend you
8. clothing style... I hate this on anyone, unless you're in the military or actually hunting. Put it on your toddler and I'll send him to Iraq.
9. shoe...the shoes ugly enough on its own, but the fact that you killed something to make it is even more yuck.
10. group of people... we get it, being a teenager is so damn hard.

So thats my list. I tag Dustin, Adam, and Erin to follow up and do it next.

Paris Gets Pwned

Check out this

via TheSuperficial

I think its hilarious how everytime I've seen someone mentions Paris going to jail (MTV, Conan, Jay Leno) the crowd starts going crazy. Poor Paris.

Tuesday
Physics: Ouch...
Biology: Your guess is as good as mine.

Here We Go Again

Studying all weekend has helped me tons. I know I'm ready to tackle all 6 finals. I've practiced for the big game now I just have to perform. As soon as 72 hours and 6 finals pass I will be a much happier man.

Wednesday, May 09, 2007

It is 70 degrees and absolutely gorgeous outside and I'd really like to go golfing right now. Unfortunately I have a parade to go to in like 20 minutes. Sometimes being in the military irks me just a little.

Oh well. This time 7 days from now I will officially have completed two years worth of college, a very exciting though. Thank God, next year I will still have seven classes, but I will have at least 3 majors classes, something I should enjoy very much.

A Lean Weekend

Boulder is glorious. Boulder, Colorado a town much like Ashland nestles itself against a beautiful Rocky Mountain backdrop about 25 minutes away from Denver. I venture up North from Colorado Springs with my old roommate Ryan to stay at his girlfriend's apartment and meet his girlfriends roommate.

Good times. Friday we ate at The Cheesecake Factory. Saturday started out with a 3 mile run on the trails surrounding the girls apartment which led to a yummy lunch of sushi and ice cream on Boulder's famed Pearl Street, much like the Lithia Park region of Ashland. Saturday night was just as awesome, in nearby Winchester at Dave & Busters (like Gameworks) and a bowling alley featuring its own DJ.

I'm very tired after this weekend which included a lot more than that already mentioned, but I cannot "stop" as this is the last week of school before finals. Only 8 tests and 2 papers left before the semester can be considered "over".

Holy Molle Sweet Nessy

This insider information might be more dangerous that Martha Steward on a Thursday, but word is that Ms. Molly Jeter might be re-entering the game also known as the SOB sometime very soon.
With Scott's departure a great void will be left and as Chapter 3 Paragraph 8 Sub sentence 4 of the SOB charter states at least 2 Jeters (or 1 Jeter and 1 Ooler) must be active in the SOB at all times.

Be on the lookout fokes. Aye? Great things to come. resurection

Only 2 more weeks of school left for the semester and less than one month til I'm home. I should be able to make it, especially since I'm past last week. No blogging due to a tremendous amount of homework and extracurriculars to include a Unit Compliance Inspection. Basically I was working from 8 am Friday until 5 pm Saturday. It proved exhausting and shortly after I finished I laid right down on my bed and slept.

Also, Ooler reported on the death of Steven Bouknight (sp?) . If I'm not mistaken he attended South Medford High School during my tenure, obviously a couple of years ahead of me. Anyone else remeber him?

AMERICA

I freaking hate those awkward encounters when walking towards another person in a hallway. The hallway is 8 feet wide but for some reason you and this other person seem to be walking directly towards each other. To figure out which way to divert yourselves you ask : Where am I? AMERICA. Go for the right lane! I can't even remember how many times in the last few days (especially in the gym) I have been forced left by some idiot who has either never driven a car before (not possible) or has forgotten where they are (whats the name of our school Dumas. I'll give you a hint, it starts with UNITED STATES). Does anyone else have this problem, or am I just going crazy?

P.S. I think there should be a law. Anyone who tries to move left when confronted with the awkward head-on encounter should be shipped to Siberia or Laos or some other bass-ackward country where they think its awesome to drive on the left side of the rode.

VT Pictures and Tapes

So I'm sure everybody has seen most of the pictures and video tapes that Cho sent to NBC. That kid was crazy looking, and obviously messed up in the head. The question I have, is whether its appropriate for the networks to be showing these.

A lot of the families have expressed their displeasure with seeing these on TV. It also seems that showing this stuff will inspire the CopyCats that Ooler has been talking about. Won't some other deranged psycho get excited enough about seeing pictures of himself on TV that he will go and shoot up his school or workplace? Maybe. I am sure that I personally would have been just fine if not better off had I not been exposed to those pictures and video.

School Shootings

Am I wrong for not "feeling" after todays Virginia Tech masacre? I mourn for the families and friends of those who lost their lives, but I guess I'm not "shocked". I see it as a generational thing.

Sixth grade, 20 April, the nations first big school shooting occured. Only a year before that 1 person was killed in the Springfield Oregon shooting. It seems, having "grown up" with these things that one becomes slightly less traumatized by them, by death.

33 is the death count so far, which is the biggest shooting spree in our nations history, but for some reason, having lived through Springfield, Columbine, 8 year-old bringing guns to school, snipers in DC, and more, this newest even seems to just be another blip on the radar.

Blizzards and Chiefs of Staff

A big blizzard is apparently on its way through Colorado and could dump anywhere from 6 inches to 3 feet of snow in this region. I vote for no school and Sanjaya's execution.

The Chief of Staff of the Air Force came to talk to my class, 2009, yesterday. General T. Michael Mosely is one kick ass dude, the definition of BAMF. He explained the future needs of the Air Force, including a new stealth bomber, Search and Rescue helicopter, and tankers. Some believe his means of getting money for these projects (slashing 40,000 jobs) is horrendous, but he sells it well. It makes you feel pretty special when the highest ranking person in the Air Force stops by for a visit, to exclusively talk to you. He became Chief of Staff when we were new cadets and made an agreement to make us his godchildren. He specified that no other Cadets or Officers/Enlisted personnel be in the room while he talked to us. Awesome.

Also, whats the deal with this Imus radio talk show host. My black-female English teacher wanted to talk about him today, and the horrible racism that still exists in America. I can't say I see racism as a huge problem right now, but I guess when you're a white male you don't feel opressed about much of anything.

Anyways, has anyone noticed how Adam's border looks very similar to the Burberry plaid?

Happy Easter Weekend!

I can think of nothing God would love more than for you to go see Blades Of Glory this weekend, and probably go to church too. Adam got it right in his review, so I won't go into detail in its awesomeness. The movie renewed my faith in Wil Ferrell which wavered slightly after Talledega Nights. Great.

Happy Friday friends. Enjoy your weekend because I certainly will.

Gettin Back

Just got settled back into my room and I am not looking forward to school tomorrow.

The most annoying group of women sat right next to me on the plane today from Meddy to Denver. Their annoyance began in the boarding area and continued on the plane. It was this group like the First Wives Club or something, and everything they said was so hilarious they all just laughed. The conversations were seriously like this.

-"Hey Oprah, Can you put my bag in the overhead".

-I sure can

-(whole group) hahahahah thats so funny!

Why? I don't know.

Also, Wolfgang Puck's Pizza is glorious. So glad they have one in DIA.

And lastly, I got my golf clubs out here. I'm looking to hit the range at least twice this week if not more. Should be fun getting back into the game. Goal: Shoot 90 by the end of the school year in two months.

Girls do Not get pee shivers

It was settled. Girls do not get pee shivers, not because men are afraid of their pee, but instead because women have no penis and cannot urinate efficiently standing up.

So basically I've been wondering what the hell has happened to Cingular/AT&T. Have they swithed back? WTF. March madness has just led to confusion. AT&T at the half. Cingular: We're the new AT&T. Why?????

Also, if I could have a real job, I rather think I'd like to work at the gym, like Superior. It would be tight.

A Quick Question For You

Do girls get pee-shivers?

Spinach Lasagna

I'm home for a little more than a week of Spring Break, which is very exciting in my opinion. Just one big test and one paper are standing in my way. That and finding a ride to the airport at like 6 in the morning.

And seriously, has anyone else felt Eric's absence? Where is that kid? The blogosphere is missing a key player.

My Favorite Time of Year

Has got to be March Madness. There is nothing better than watching at least 3 games of basketball a day for these first few rounds only to have even better match ups created for the sweet 16. Seriously. On top of that, the weather is beautiful and its almost Spring Break. My bracket felt the hurt the first round as I was "upset happy" but its looking stellar now. I don't even care. I like to root for the Pac-10 and the underdog. Its awesome. I love it so much I might just name my first two children March and Madness.

Its on!

South Medford Basketball

Tonight is the night. As I wait for tip off here in Colorado Springs, I cannot help but think that South deserves this. Medford deserves this. A team like South has right now is once in a lifetime. So many stories from Kyle Singler going to Duke, to Michael Harthun next year, to Dennis Murphy's legend, to 4 Singler/Boyds on the same team. What a story! Hopefully tonight they will see championship glory and the students of South and their alumni (05' myself) can feel proud to be a panther.

School Sucks

Having seven classes this semester has proved quite the challenge. Weeks with 3 or 4 big tests occur just about every other week and have left me in the worst shape I've been at any mid-term here at USAFA. This week has been relatively quiet, but I know I have at least 2 tests next week, before Spring Break. Awesome. I don't know my prog-grades yet, but I'll be lucky to pull of a 2.5 GPA, which is way below my average (3.4). Basically this equates to me needing to work my ass of the second part of this semester in order to get close to maintaining my GPA.

Dream

Does anyone ever have those dreams where you think you have written a new post, but you can't remember what its about so you go to your blog and there is no new post? I guess its not so much a dream as a nightmare.

Also, this is hilarious. I feel ashamed to admit it, but I may have had a small crush on Britney when I was like 12. Thats probably my biggest secret, and SOB I've shared it with you. Feel Special.

Next time I get a phone, I want to get a real easy phone number, like 222-222-2222. That way, when someone asks me, "Sean, what's your phone number?" I can reply...just press 2 for a while, when I answer you'll know you've dialed my number.

Another Great Post From The Prestige

Fellow bloggers... whats up???

I got a couple of gripes today. First, why does everyone automatically assume when you wear a cast/ACE bandage on your wrist that you've been jerking off too much? I hurt my wrist playing basketball(I fell) but people ask me how I hurt it expecting me to say "yea, i wacked the weasel like 15 times yesterday". I swear it was basketball.

Also, I'm seeing this "labels for this post" at the bottom of the screen here, and the first example is scooters. WTF??? Am I the only blogger out there not writing about scooters? Seriously, they could have come up with a much better first example...music, life or general would have done just fine.
So there!

And lastly, does anyone else find it awesome that February is almost over. YEHAHHAHHAHASSS

A Night At The Oscars

So I tuned into the Oscars for like 30 minutes Sunday Night. I turned it on at a good point in the show. Wil Ferrel, Jack Black, and some other funny dude sang an awesome song, the cute little girl from Little Miss Sunshine proved that she can read and Wil Smith's kid can't, and Al Gore showed America that Global Warming has made it so hot outside, he cannot exercise which explains why he looked like a balooga whale in his tuxedo. Seriously, the guy is having weight issues.

Alas, this week is going to suck at school(3 tests 1 big paper) and I am quickly considering ending my lent pledge of no myspace or facebook. I'm not sure yet.

*update*
I just noticed on Yahoo that The Departed got Best Picture, which makes sense. It was one of a couple of Oscar nominated movies I saw this year in theater. I don't remember it well, just that I was not a big fan. It was weird, long, and not very clear. I guess that makes it Oscar-worthy.

Hearing the Attorney General

was like listening to one of the CD's that has running water and chirping birds on it and it makes you want to fall asleep. A.G. Alberto Gonzales came to our school today to talk about something and he put me to sleep. It probably didn't help that I was exhausted, but he was a pretty quiet, simple talker. Either way, he talked for like 45 minutes, and I think I was awake for 10 of them. Oh well. Here's to it being almost friday. Cheers.

What to give up for lent?

Dear blogosphere,

I'm trying to think of something to give for lent?
I know it started today and I'm late. Forgive me.
And make a suggestion.

Thank You Mr. President

This weekend was kick ass! My mom was here. We rocked Denver and the Springs going shopping, seeing movies, and eating like crazy. I turned 20, which was cool. No longer a teenager, but other then that no big deal right? I was away from the computer for 3 days which is nice, but different. Unfortunately I thought of cool things to blog about all weekend, then forgot what I wanted to write. Oh well. No cool bloggins, just a cool Sean!

Chillaxin to the maxin.... Happy Late SAD day!

Gosh, so I've been holding out for some time now, trying not to switch my blogger over to the new google system. Pretty much just because I was lazy. Alas, that is my reason for not blogging in a hell of a long time. I guess you could also say it was a moment of silence for Donnie getting rid of blog...again. WTF?

Well anyways, happy (late) Singles Appreciation Day. I know it was yesterday along with that other holiday, but o well. I appreciate being single, sorta. I just noticed that I have the tendency to like girls that have boyfriends. Like I've done this for 3 years now. Whats up with that?

In other news, I've had 3 tests in two days and I have another one tomorrow. Crap nabbit.

Soccer Rocks My Socks

Today has been quite traumatic for me physically. I took the Academy's Physical Fitness Test (PFT) this morning, and managed the same score I got in the Fall, which I was pleased with. It still managed to kick my ass, leaving me feeling tired, and caused me to puke up my breakfast after the last part- a 600 yard run.

This afternoon provided more exercise, but in a much more enjoyable way. I played intramural soccer. It was freezing. There were patches of ice on the field. But it was awesome. I forgot how much I love the worlds best sport. I played midfield, and ran like crazy, narrowly avoiding injury. At one point I did get kneed in the balls which hurt like a bitch. But I got revenge by spraining the other kids ankle like 4 minutes later... HAHAHAHAHHAHA. Just kidding. Or am I?

Martina Hingis: Sports New Steriod Scandal

Since no other legitimate news source has come forward with this story, I would like to formally announce that there is yet another case of steroid use among pro athletes. Female tennis star Martina Hingis has been accused (by Me) of taking steroids. Hingis is a top female tennis player and currently is in the semi-finals of the Australian Open, the year's first major. Now in her defense, I have no concrete evidence, no blood tests, no urine analysis, nor have I even ever seen Martina Hingis in person. I do however have this picture. (Click the hyperlink for a bigger pic)
Check out those arms! I would kill for that kind of definition, since I am a guy and have a penis. This look for Martina is not so good, and is most likely due to heavy steroid use, or the injection of massive quantities of bovine hormone. Case Closed.

Feel free to disagree, but you will be wrong.

Oh I wish I were an Oscar Meyer wiener

Or a squinty eyed Asian. Allow me to explain why. You see, Thursday night I was up to til 4 am doing various and sundry things, neglecting the fact that I had to be up for breakfast at 7. Well, the rest of the day I was hurting to keep my eyes open. I was tired, my eyes were tired, and it took quite some exertion to keep my eyes open in class. Then I began to think, "hmm, I wonder how much easier it would be to keep my eyes open, if... say I was Asian??? Now, I hope this doesn't sound racist or whatever. I guess you could say I'm actually in admiration of those people of the Asian persuation.
You can see I've done some technical analysis, using the latest in today's technology* and it would in fact be almost 8 times easier to keep my eyes open if I were in fact oriental. Combined with tiredness factor (x2) and that's 16 times easier. Wouldn't that be amazing? I've heard of people with squinty eyes getting surgery to make them less squinty, more American looking, which makes me wonder if there is a reverse procedure for people like myself. Just a thought.

*technology used was Microsoft Paint and numbers are actually made up

A Quick Note On The War

"Peace in our time" was a phrase, I believe it was coined by Churchill back during the First World War. It is amazing how far our society has come. Progress is beautiful. And I believe that is exactly what this war is; Progress. In the information era that we currently find ourselves in, it was almost inevitable that a war would occur in cyberspace.

My friends, the Southern Oregon Blogosphere is on the cutting edge of war fighting in this country.... no, in this world. It was all sparked by Preston's post. Like Hitler annexing Austria, we felt a need to take action. Our fearless new leader, Scott Barthalomew Jeter III emerged, and took charge of the blogosphere. His presence was immediately felt. The war ended quickly, with no casualties, and in the day or so that Scott has ruled his presence has been felt.

Dustin wrote a new post. Sam Sabori was named best non-white blogger of the year by Eric Loeffler. It's a beautiful thing. Now, I await response from former head of the SOB, Donald Ronald Jeter IV. What will he say?

To recap, the worlds first cyberspace war has occured in the SOB. Immediate progress ensued in the form of updates and more SOB interaction. The outlook is bright for this blogosphere friends. Perhaps, we should take over other spheres in an effort to create better blogging throughout this great nation. That is just a thought though.

Commentary on The Blogging Wars

Blogging wars don't determine who is right, only who is left.

Blogging for peace is like fucking for virginity.

No Blogging. No Peace. Know Blogging. Know Peace.

The blogging wars have begun folks. Whose side are you on?

Here we go again

First Day

Period 2- Economics: should be very interesting. This teacher is all about money=time=happiness
Period 3/4- Water survival: Validated

Period 5/6-Biology w/lab: My kind of class. It seems like a mix of Anatomy from high school and practical biology (diet, physical training)
Period 7- Intramurals: I think volleyball or soccer

Second Day

Period 2- English 211: My teacher is obsesses with Toni Morrison which should make for an interesting semester
Period 3/4-Electromagnetic Physics: Might as well be a foreign language
Period 5- Management: Very enjoyable, the teacher is awesome
Period 6- Law: Lots of reading
Period 7- Civil Engineering/Air Base Planning: Will be as useless as it sounds

Sounds like a fun semester eh?

Feelings On Altruism

Esther is a nice older late, probably in her late 50's, working at the Academy in the cadet barbershop. She has cut my hair for the past year and a half, and I really like her, and the way she cuts my hair.

Talking to her today about vacation, she told me how she wrecked her car driving to work the day of the big storm, a day where virtually no cadets were getting their hair cut. I felt bad. The only reason she came was because she was ordered to, and she can't afford to use her leave. It turns out the costs for car are like 600 dollars. I am not sure why, but when she told me this, I was like (in my head) hey, I have that much money in my bank account, I should probably just give it to her. That would be awesome.

After leaving, I came to my senses a bit and thought that its probably not the best financial decision to just give away that much money, but at the same time, maybe its the right thing to do. What do you think blogosphere? If you want to contribute, to a "Save Esther's car" fund, I would be more than willing to deliver her your kind donation.

Starting over

"I kissed you in a style, Clark Gable would've admired. I found it classic"

A new semester with new classes, new teachers and new friends started today. It should be quite interesting. Seven classes is a heavy load, but they all interest me. It definitely helps that I validated my "water haze" class today. Validating included swimming 75 ft underwater, jumping off a 5 m board and swimming 75 m in under 1:15. And lastly we had to jump off a 10 m board (32 ft) and make it under a bulk-head 25 m away from the edge of the pool. It was some sweet nessy action if you know what I mean. Good way to start my semester.

So This is the New Year

Ok, so I haven't blogged in what seems like forever. No one has blogged in what seems like forever. Well last night, the ghost of Christmas past visited me in a dream and said that if I didn't blog today I would have bad relationship luck for the next 4 years..... or maybe that was in a myspace bulletin. Either way, I'm blogging now and as far as the relationship luck goes, we'll see if I'm with the girl I want by Sunday when I leave.

Well, for right now, I don't have any best of 2006 lists. I don't have any pictures from what turned out to be a great New Year's Eve. I do have a lot to do in the next several days. That list includes:

Seeing a long list of friends to include Luke, Alex M., Alex B, Jordan and others
Dentists appointment
Going out to breakfast with Papa
Eating good food while I'm still here
and other stuff I really don't feel like writing about because I'm done writing for right now. Peace out SOB, if anyone really is going to read this until after this break's blogging lull.
